So ladyoflorien had this fabulous idea on Twitter, where you try to fit a mini-tiny-teeny fic into 140 characters. Actually, it's usually closer to 130, after you @reply it to the person who prompted you, but still. So I gave it a try tonight, and here's what happened. ( fandoms: Once Upon a Time, Potterverse AU, Warehouse 13, Percy Jackson/Greek mythology (yes, the designation means something) by way of Milliways, W13/Disc by way of Milliways, OUaT/X-Men: First Class by way of panfandomsandbox ) In conclusion, kinda fun!

Meme time!
1. Go to page 77 (or 7) of your current manuscript. 2. Go to line 7 3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written. 4. Encourage other people to do it!
The story I'm currently working on is my queer_fest fic, which is... nowhere near seven pages as of yet. So instead, you get a snippet of another work in progress: ( a fairly nondescript bit of a W13 fic ) In other news: Of course Mercury's in retrograde now! No wonder it took like five tries to work out who was trying to start my grandparents' lawnmower (thanks for the follow-through, Dad...)! (Mostly throwing this is for gratuitous tag use. I don't get the chance much.) Also, dear Once Upon a Time: Roger Daltrey did not guest star in sunday's episode. He had a cameo. It was a hilarious cameo, but that's all it was.

If you'd asked me six months ago if I thought my grandfather would be the last of his brothers alive, I would have said no - partly because that was right after he had a major surgery, partly because the other of the five brothers was the youngest. And then Mom's uncle was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer... I think a month ago? And things went downhill for him from there. Two days ago, he told his family to move him to hospice; he died this morning. Mom and Dad are going down over Mom's spring break, and they're having the services then so she can be there; my grandfather's still carrying on as well as he has been lately, but he's in no shape to travel himself. In the immortal wisdom of Heywood Banks, may you never have a cranky pancreas, guys.

Tell you what, I am finding Unfuck Your Habitat to be genius. Dishes are processed as is fitting, shelf-like surfaces in the living room are dusted, I filed my local taxes (finally; I'd lost the account number, but the guy at the office was super-helpful in tracking it down) and got my computer information filed, and I started cleaning a bit of my room (and claimed my grandmother's jewelry box since Mom said I was welcome to it). And there's laundry going on, but there's almost always laundry going on. (The key for me, I think, is plugging my iPod into the big computer and playing that rather than watching TV. If I get sucked into a show and then half the commercial break, I lose my momentum, but I can hear the music from anywhere in the house.) Now is break time for ye olde copy editing, and then probably one more round of cleaning SOME OF THE THINGS, maybe two if I'm really inspired.

HOLY CRAP, you guys, the milliways_bar move was a thing of beauty and a joy forever. (All the free-for-all comments are still LJ-side at the moment and in some cases ongoing, but.) Still waffling on whether to set up my default personal stuff as DW as well, but... at this point I probably will. Crossposting etc. is easy enough, after all.

First, and apologies to those of you who've seen this twelve times by now:
For anyone who plays or used to play at milliways_bar and hasn't been following the back room lately: Milliways is moving to Dreamwidth!
They're using the opportunity to free up many old and retired characters for play, as well as to preserve as much of Milliways' history on Dreamwidth as possible against the possibility of LJ going kersplut.
To decide what will happen to your character, help back up the game to Dreamwidth, and to see how you'll retain control over all your content, head on over here.
Second: Hey guys, I've been podficced! You Will Move Mountains got included in the latest Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology; podficcer's post is here (I'm the one at the bottom). It is fabulous and made me squee a lot. ...I feel like there was a third thing, but I've forgotten entirely. I may well go off and write something.
